Alex Matthews

ABN AMRO WCS Operations

As enterprise architect for the Wholesale Clients Strategic Business Unit, Mr. Matthews is responsible for overseeing the definition and implementation of technology strategy within Investment Banking Operations at ABN AMRO. This includes the rollout of a Service-Oriented Architecture delivery framework. Before taking his current role, Mr. Matthews held a variety of management positions with ABN AMRO since 2001.

Prior to joining ABN AMRO, Mr. Matthews worked for a number of technology and financial services organizations both in Europe and the U.S. building systems using a variety of integration and middleware technologies.

ABN AMRO is an international bank with European roots and a clear focus on consumer and commercial banking, strongly supported by an international wholesale business. ABN AMRO ranks 11th in Europe and 20th in the world based on tier 1 capital, with over 3,000 branches in more than 60 countries, a staff of more than 97,000 full-time equivalents and total assets of EUR 855.7 billion (as at 30 June 2005).

Marc Breissinger

Marc Breissinger has been with webMethods since 1999 and has held varied responsibilities including managing webMethods' standards activities, defining product strategy, and architecting webMethods solutions. In his current role as VP and Chief Architect, he is responsible for setting the technology vision of webMethods products and ensuring that vision is translated into industry-leading products. Prior to working for webMethods, he worked at (then) Andersen Consulting's Center for Strategic Technology in Palo Alto, CA, where he focused on researching leading-edge Internet and integration technologies and driving the adoption of those technologies into the field. In that role, he led the implementation of numerous large-scale integration projects across a variety of industries.

Debbie Rosen

Deborah Rosen is executive vice president of marketing for webMethods, where she is responsible for all marketing operations and strategic planning for webMethods' activities around the globe. Prior to this role, Ms. Rosen was senior vice president and general manager of webMethods' Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) Business Unit, where she was responsible for driving the company's leading-edge initiatives in the emerging Business Activity Monitoring market space.

During her tenure, Ms. Rosen helped webMethods earn unique competitive differentiation by driving global alliances to embed webMethods technology within enterprise application from strategic vendors, such as i2 Technologies, J.D. Edwards, Lawson Software, Oracle, SAP and Siebel Systems. Ms. Rosen's efforts with global systems integrators, Accenture, BearingPoint, Deloitte Consulting, Cap Gemini Ernst and Young and IBM Global Services helped expand webMethods' practices worldwide.

Ms. Rosen brings to webMethods more than 15 years of experience in technology sales management. Prior to joining webMethods, she served as vice president of sales for Intelisys Electronic Commerce, where she played a key role in building the company and its sales force from the ground up. Previously, Ms. Rosen spent 10 years at Computer Associates International, where she held a number of positions, most notably as senior vice president of Sales. In this role, she increased new product sales revenues by 290 percent. Computer Associates honored Ms. Rosen twice as the top-ranking sales vice president within North America.

John Schmidt

President, Integration Consortium,
and Senior Vice President, Consumer and Small Business Banking Technology Group

John Schmidt is SVP of Enterprise Architecture and Integration for Consumer and Small Business Banking. He leads an architecture team responsible for the strategy, development, and disciplined use of architecture solutions and standards across the enterprise. John's role includes driving the corporate Enterprise Architecture transformation, building and sustaining architecture frameworks with emphasis on business architecture, developing a multi-year architecture blueprint, implementing EA governance procedures, and directing the banks Integration Competency Center.

John has practiced as an information systems professional for 28 years. He joined the bank in January 2005 and brings a wide of experience to the bank from a number of industries including Retail, Communications, Finance, Education, and Government. Most recently, John worked at Best Buy where he led the System Integration & Middleware Center of Excellence which designed, developed and supported the entire spectrum of integration technologies. Mr. Schmidt is a frequent speaker on the topic of integration, has written a book (Integration Competency Center: An Implementation Methodology) and countless articles on the subject, and is President of the Integration Consortium - a non-profit organization promoting integration best practices.

Bobby Patrick

Robert "Bobby" Patrick is Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at GXS. In this role, Mr. Patrick oversees the strategic direction and positioning of GXS, including corporate strategy, global marketing, product development and corporate communications. Since joining GXS, the company has earned leadership distinction in Gartner's coveted Magic QuadrantTM and Forrester Research's Forrester WaveTM.

Mr. Patrick focuses on boosting GXS and its new Trading GridSM integration services platform as the strategic foundation for global business-to-business integration, synchronization and collaboration. In 2004, he formed a strategic alliance with webMethods to inject new technology into the Trading Grid and broaden the combined reach and portfolio of each company's solutions.

Mr. Patrick joins GXS after serving as Chief Marketing Officer at Digex, Incorporated, acquired by MCI in 2003. Prior to that position, Mr. Patrick held a variety of senior management roles at Digex, including Vice President of Strategy, Business Development and Product Management. Mr. Patrick was successful in earning category leadership distinctions in Gartner's Web hosting industry magic quadrant for three years in a row. He also consummated key strategic deals, such as a $100 million strategic investment from Microsoft and Compaq.

Patricia Vessey

Director, Supplier Integration

Patricia Vessey is Director of Supplier Integration for Best Buy US. She is responsible for all of the external electronic communication with vendors and carriers. She is also responsible for Foundation Data Management which includes item information within the RETEK merchandising system. She has been with Best Buy, based in Richfield, MN for 7.5 years. Ms. Vessey is involved in industry standards groups for electronic communication and is Chair of the Uniform Code Council's UConnect conference. Prior to Best Buy, Patricia worked for HomeBase, a home improvement retailer and a retail department store called Carter Hawley Hale, both based in California.

Patricia graduated from UC Berkeley.
